What makes Better For You different?
Better For You cakes are premium desserts crafted with intention. We lead with flavor — and we build that flavor on a foundation of thoughtfully selected ingredients: almond flour, monk fruit, allulose, and a whey-casein protein blend.
The result is a dessert that feels genuinely indulgent — rich, satisfying, full of flavor — without relying on refined sugar or artificial anything.

What's In It
Are your desserts sugar free?
We don't use refined sugar — ever.
Instead, we sweeten everything with monk fruit and allulose. These naturally-derived sweeteners deliver balanced sweetness without the blood sugar spikes that come with refined sugar. They're also what allow us to keep our added sugar count at 0g across the entire lineup.
What is allulose and why do you use it?
Allulose is a rare naturally-occurring sugar found in small amounts in foods like figs and raisins. It tastes and bakes like regular sugar — it caramelizes, it browns, it creates the same texture — but your body doesn't metabolize it the way it does conventional sugar, so it has minimal impact on blood glucose.
It's one of the reasons our baked goods taste like the real thing, because in a lot of ways, they are.
Why almond flour?
Almond flour lets us bake something that's genuinely better for you without sacrificing texture or flavor. Compared to all-purpose flour, it brings:
- More protein and healthy fats
- Dietary fiber
- A naturally moist, tender crumb
- Greater satiety — you stay full longer
It also keeps our recipes grain-free and gluten-free.
Do your products contain protein?
Yes. Every recipe is enriched with a whey and casein protein blend:
- Whey protein — fast-absorbing, supports texture and structure
- Casein protein — slow-digesting, contributes to satiety
Mini cakes contain 11g of protein per cake with 0g added sugars.
Baking mix protein varies by flavor — nutrition facts are listed on each product page.
Are your products gluten-free?
Yes — all Better For You products are grain-free and gluten-free, made with almond flour instead of wheat-based flours.
What allergens are in your products?
Our products contain milk and almonds. Select flavors also contain hazelnuts (Chocolate Hazelnut) and pistachios (Pistachio Rose, Pistachio Saffron).
The Chocolate Peanut Butter Mini Cake contains peanuts.
Shared kitchen notice: All products are made in a shared kitchen that also processes milk, eggs, wheat, tree nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios), and peanuts. Not recommended for those with severe allergies.
Are your products suitable for diabetics or people managing blood sugar?
Our recipes are specifically designed with blood sugar management in mind — low glycemic index, zero refined sugar, sweetened with monk fruit and allulose, and enriched with protein and fiber to support stable energy.
That said, we're a bakery, not a medical provider. If you have specific dietary requirements or health conditions, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before adding any new food to your routine.

Online: Baking mixes are available right here at betterforyou.store — shipped anywhere in the US.
In person: Mini cakes, bites, and baking mixes are available for pickup at:

Do you deliver or ship?
It depends on the product.
Baking mixes — yes, we ship nationwide. Shelf-stable and built for delivery. Order online and we'll get them to you anywhere in the US.
Mini cakes and bites — these are freshly baked to order and perishable, so they're available for local pickup only — at The Local Spot in Belmont or at our pop-up events. We don't ship or deliver these.
How far in advance should I order?
Because everything is baked fresh in small batches, we ask for at least 48 hours notice on all mini cake and bites orders. For events or larger quantities, the earlier the better — popular flavors do sell out.
Baking mix orders ship within 2–3 business days of purchase.
How are baking mix orders shipped and how long does delivery take?
We ship via USPS or UPS with estimated delivery of 3–5 business days after your order is fulfilled. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and order size.
Note: Carrier and delivery timeframes will be updated once Shopify Shipping is fully configured.
Do you offer subscriptions?
Yes — our baking mixes and select bite and snack products are available as monthly subscriptions. Subscribe and save, with the flexibility to pause, skip, or cancel anytime.
Do you offer discounts or promotions?
New customers get 10% off their first order — use code WELCOME10 at checkout, or sign up for our email list and we'll send it to you automatically.
